Chateau Noisy / Chateau Miranda Pictures of the years 2005 / 2006 / 2012 |

October 2005: An impartial visitor looking for the first time to the front of Chateau Noisy will recognize the archetype of a haunted cadtle. There are pinnacles and bays, turrets and towers more than you can count, dark windows and water basins in the wilderness of the old garden. It seems that something could always move behind the windows. But there is nothing. Instead faces and figures made of stone, which look always to you during your visit of the castle and don't leave you out of their lifeless eyes. Also the inside offers an atmosphere, that scary and fear can create. Less because the basement is dark, as basements usually do - or poisonous fungus spores lurking in the walls. No, it's more because of the run-down and totally destroyed state of the home's substance. The planks on the ground floor swing while walking on them and from the first floor upwards holes in the floor remind for your utmost caution. On the third floor, finally, I refuse to pass by a huge hole in the wooden floor, which was caused by the broken roof and the influence of the weather. No, here my inner voice calls for a prudent reversal still knowing that others already passed by this abyss. |
Even so the visit offers enough suspense. When I just wanted to leave the archway a car arrived. It seemed to me as if the car stopped barely 10 meters away. I heared steps, noises of work, a heavy breathing. Then again a motor noise, car doors, a loud and energetic command - then the car droved away again. "Be lucky" I thought in my doorless hideout and wanted to leave it straightly, when I saw them: two black dogs, only a stone's throw away. I pulled myself back and waited. Aren't there around to my feet dogs blankets? Panic feeling all round. What if the two dogs stay there overnight and come in to visit me? But nothing of this kind happened. Instead the car came back, drove away again, came, drove, came, drove ... After nearly 40 minutes my colleagues - who observed the scene over from the main building - gave me an all clear signal. It was a ranger, who transported feed into the forest and left meanwhile three (!) dogs at the chateau. After this episode, it was much easier for me to leave the area. The dozens of pheasants in the garden may have welcomed this, because now they could continue their undisturbed search for feed. |
