Ein Meer goldgelben Grases umwogt den verschlungenen Trampelpfad, langsam schälen sich die Konturen des riesigen Baus aus der Vegetation heraus, werden größer und größer.
Selten habe ich so einen massiven und großen Gebäudekörper gesehen, der mit seinen neueren Anbauten mehrere hundert Meter lang ist. Durch die Bänderung der Fassade und die zahlreichen Fenster ist es dem Architekten gelungen, diese Monumentalität zu wandeln und aufzulockern. Und so entsteht eher der Eindruck eines repräsentativen neugotischen Wohnbaus mit angegliederter Kirche als der eines industriellen Zweckbaus.

Es ist nur wenig an Hintergrundinformationen zu finden. 1922 wurde es wohl in Betrieb genommen, Ende der 80'er Jahre stillgelegt. Das Speichergebäude steht unter Denkmalschutz, zeigt aber trotzdem starke witterungsbedingte Beschädigungen, Brandschäden und Vandalismusfolgen. Das Dach ist teilweise zerstört, die Böden im Gebäude fehlen über mehrere Etagen.
Offensichtlich fehlt es der Stadt an Konzepten / Mitteln oder dem Willen, diesen Bau wieder herzurichten.

A sea of golden grass is waving around the tortuous trail, the contours of the huge building slowly peels out of the vegetation and becomes larger and larger.
Rarely have I seen such a massive and large building, which is some hundred meters long including its newer additions. Due to the banding of the façade and the high number of windows the architect has managed it to convert the buildings expression and to loosen its monumentality. And so it has more the character of a representative neo-Gothic residential building with an adjoining church than that of a functional industrial building.

Only a few informations about his history I could find. 1922 it was probably put into operation, and shut down during the late 80's years. The storage building is a listed building, but still shows strong weather-related damage, fire damage and vandalism consequences. The roof is partially destroyed, the floors in the building are lacking on several levels. Obviously the town has a lack of concepts / resources or the will to prepare this building again.
